  1. When I started listening I thought you were going to discuss how we each need to be aware of our unconscious speciesism. That wasn't exactly the message, but I liked when you said that you TRY not to be speciesist. We have all been raised in such a pervasive culture of speciesism, and the issue is still only recognized by a few people. Most of the public would think that the very idea is a joke; an example of political correctness gone mad. But since learning of the abolitionist vegan movement and becoming vegan myself, I have had to confront my own thoughts of speciesism and examine my behavior to make sure that those thoughts don't lead to wrong action. For instance, when I see an animal that has been hit by a car, I am sad. But if it's a cat, I'll cry. Why should I feel worse about a cat than a squirrel? I can't help how I feel, but I can make sure my actions are not speciesist. Thanks for the podcast, and keep up the good work!

  2. Ah yes it could have been a title suitable for such a topic, you are right. Yes, I can only try, we all can. We all try not to be racist, sexist, speciesist and all those awful things we are indoctrinated with. I think you put it very well when saying you can't help what you feel but can take responsibility for your actions. Thank you for leaving this comment and for listening :)
